Focus on Progress - Overview of Each State's CYSHCN Services 10-2006
Focus on Progress provides a quick reference for sharing information with families, state and community programs, legislators, and other partners about community-based systems of services for children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN).
Special Needs Alert Program (SNAP) Information Packet 01-2007
The Special Needs Alert Program (SNAP), developed by Delaware's EMSC Program in 2004, is now available in English & Spanish. SNAP is a pre-hospital notification program for children with special health care needs (CSHCN). When a child is registered in the program, first responders are alerted to the child's complete medical history. The prior knowledge of the medical history enables first responders to provide prompt and appropriate emergency care for the child. A home visit by EMS providers may be conducted as a means to introduce families to their local providers and to gather additional information.

Many organizations provide national data sources for injury, illness, death, and criminal justice data. Most of these datasets are accessible on the Internet. Some allow you to access pre-defined reports or query an existing database. Others allow you to download the data and calculate your own statistics. Inventory Of National Injury Data Systems 11-2006
A list of 44 different federal data systems operated by 16 difference agencies and 3 private injury registry systems that provide nationwide injury-related data. APOLLO WP2: The Burden of Injuries in the EU 10-2006
The aim of Apollo WP2 is to produce evidence relevant to European policy makers on the burden of injuries together with information on the efficiency of relevant injury prevention interventions.
EU Injury Database 10-2006
The Injury Database (IDB) is an internet database set up by DG SANCO under the Injury Prevention Programme in 1999, in order to provide central access to the data collected in the Member States under the EHLASS Programme (European Home and Leisure Accident Surveillance System). IDB is the only data source in the EU that contains sufficient detail for developing preventive action against the rising tide of home and leisure accidents in Europe. The purpose of the IDB is to facilitate injury prevention in the Member States and at EU level - through trans-national aggregation and harmonization of data, and through reporting and benchmarking.
International Collaborative Effort (ICE) on Injury Statistics 10-2006
The mission of the Injury ICE is to improve international comparability and quality of injury data. The ultimate aim is to provide the data needed to better assess the causes and consequences of injury, differences in injury occurrence over time and place, and the most effective means of prevention and control.

A secure, national, online network of Lessons Learned and Best Practices designed to help emergency response providers and homeland security officials prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from acts of terrorism. Recently, the site launched a new School Emergency Planning page. This page houses a wealth of resources on the topic of school emergency planning, including after-action reports, documents, templates, plans, related links, recent news, upcoming conferences, and more.
Disaster Preparedness Exercises Addressing the Pediatric Population 05-2007
Inclusion of infants and children in disaster drills and exercises is an essential component in preparedness efforts. The recently released Disaster Preparedness Exercises Addressing the Pediatric Population can assist organizations in preparing to treat critically ill or injured pediatric patients during an actual disaster or mass casualty incident. Developed by Illinois EMSC under the direction of the Pediatric Bioterrorism Work Group, Illinois Terrorism Task Force, this 30-page booklet includes several scenarios and tabletop exercise templates, as well as checklists, a list of resources, and information about the START and JumpSTART triage systems.
